Overcoming Drag

The Drag Equation

A year ago this Friday, I presented a paper on pandemic academic parenting.

In the year since, my youngest can read the letters that I type.

My family is my thrust, the force that pushes me forward. But there are other variables that drag me. If thrust is stronger, it overcomes the drag.

I have oreo crumbs, oreo wrappers, Jenga pieces, popsicle residue, popsicle sticks, a half eaten Swiss Roll, an OMG doll, kinetic sand, and whatever else she has used to share my space this past week after exposure to another COVID case in her class.

I have to push through this another month before little kids like her may be able to get the vaccine. By next fall, she should be in Kindergarten, IA.
